Current position: Executive fellow of Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.
Education: Doctor degree of Applied Physics, Tsukuba University; Graduated in Physical Engineering, the University of Tokyo

Hisataka Yakabe is the executive fellow of Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.  
He got Ph.D in Applied Physics and has extensive expertise in fuel cell, hydrogen and carbon management fields.  He has lead commercialization of residential fuel cell systems in Japan, and is now concentrating in the mission of carbon neutrality in Japan. 
In Tokyo Gas, he has been promoting the work of carbon neutrality in Tokyo Gas’ group using green hydrogen, e-methane and CCUS.
He is the vice chair of the Japan Institute of Energy, a board member of Japan Society of Energy and Resources, Hydrogen Energy Systems Society of Japan, Clean Fuel and Ammonia Association, and a member of evaluation committee for several national projects.
He was the former chair of the R&D and Innovation committee of IGU (International Gas Union).
